Eco-Shift Power Corp. has named Duncan Frederick to its board of directors. He is the former managing director of Sun Industries, a company recently acquired by Eco-Shift. Frederick joins Eco-Shift chief executive Gib Wood and CFO Jim Hughes on the board.
Ten financial institutions have stepped up to provide construction and loan financing for Samsung Renewable Energy Inc. and Pattern Energy Group LP’s Armow Wind project. Construction on the 180 MW facility, located in the Township of Kincardine in Ontario, has also started.
The installation of a GE 1.6-100 wind turbine at the Dufferin wind farm, currently under development by China Longyuan Canada, is a big achievement for GE: it’s the 1,500th turbine installed in Canada. This brings GE’s total installed capacity to 2 GW across Canada.
American Vanadium Corp. has cleared another big hurdle in getting its CellCube energy storage system deployed in buildings. The company announced today that Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has given the CellCube the 508A certification.
