Diacarbon Energy Inc. received a financial boost from Export Development Canada last week when the government agency provided the Burnaby BC company with $2 million so that it could complete construction of a thermal biomass refinery in the interior of the province.

Clean energy venture capital firm Chrysalix EVC has is adding some considerable experience to its advisory board. The VC announced last week that Matthias Bichsel, soon to be retired from the executive committee of Royal Dutch Shell, will join Chrysalix.

A new hospital in Oakville will soon be generating electricity to help fund its hospital foundation. Hatch has provided a 500 kW rooftop solar energy system free of charge. Construction on the system is expected to begin next year.
