Alterra Power Corp. has finalized the financing for its 200 MW Flat Top wind project, which includes sponsor investment from BlackRock Real Assets, a contruction load from Citi, Santander and RBC and other loans.
Nova Scotia’s Ellershouse Wind Farm has completed the second phase of its development. Owned by Alternative Resource Energy Authority (AREA) with financial support from Bullfrog Power, the project’s seven ENERCON E-92 wind turbines have a total capacity of 16.1 MW and generates enough electricity to power 4,900 homes in the province.
Bullfrog Power is providing funding for three solar energy projects at remote youth camps in the Haida Gwaii nation. Under the Solar: A Bright Future, the green energy provider has partnered with the Swiilawiid Sustainability Society to deploy solar power at the ReDiscovery Haida Gwaii Program, Swan Bay Rediscovery Camp and Mount Moresby Adventure Camp.
The 60 kW Nelson Community Solar Garden Project, located in Nelson BC, is Canada’s first virtual net metering development. The project, a partnership between Bullfrog Power, the City of Nelson and Nelson Hydro, allows residents in the BC community to participate in solar energy without having to install a project on their roof or land.
Terrestrial Energy, the developer of a Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) nuclear power plant, has kicked off a feasibility study to site the world’s first commerical IMSR plant at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL). The study is being conducted by CNL.
