Fengate Real Asset Investments has closed the acquisition of three solar farms. They were previously owned by Canadian Solar Inc. The projects are located in Sault Ste. Marie and have a combined capacity of nearly 60 MW.
Canada saw another stronger year of wind energy additions in 2016 with 702 MW being added in Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia through 21 projects coming online. The country has nearly 12,000 MW of wind capacity installed, enough to annual electricity needs of three million homes.

New data from GTM Research indicates that total energy storage deployments in the US will top 2 GW in 2021. Total 2016 energy deployments are expected to hit 260 MW, up from 226 in 2015. Behind the meter installations will account for approximately half of this figure.
A new report from RE100 indicates that corporate investments and sourcing of renewable energy is critical to attaining a zero-emissions economy. The report, which was released at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, also states that RE100 members in the US are consuming the most renewable energy.
