The StandUp Ventures Fund I, an investment vehicle dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs in the cleantech, healthcare and IT sectors, has achieved its first financing. The Business Development Bank of Canada contributed $5 million to the fund, which is being managed by the MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF).
Energy storage company Peak Power Inc. has secured an undisclosed investment from Osmington Inc., a commercial real estate company controlled by Thomson Reuters chair David Thomson.
Eguana Technologies Inc. is getting more orders for its residential energy storage system, AC Battery, from its partner E-Gear LLC. The orders come as a result of the Hawaiian Customer Self Supply program.
