Solar Ship and Zenair Ltd. are taking their partnership to the next level, teaming up to convert the latter’s short take-off and landing (STOL) CH750 aircraft into an electric bush plane. This new aircraft, capable of taking off in areas without runways, will be recharged by either a battery swap or electric vehicle rechargers.

Salt Spring Island, the largest of the Southern Gulf Islands just off the coast of mainland British Columbia, has installed its 100th electric vehicle charging station.

Generally, Plug’n Drive’s electric vehicle driver report concludes that more people aren’t buying EVs because they lack the knowledge to make informed decisions. The Driving EV Uptake in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) report was released on May 30.

Ballard Power Systems has teamed up with Kenworth Truck Company on a demonstration of fuel cell powered trucks. The class 8 drayage truck, which will be powered by a FCveloCity-HD 85 kW fuel cell engine, will haul shipping containers from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to area warehouses and intermodal facilities during a two-year demonstration program.
